So whats better time to start then the 2nd week of the spring semester with a new blog ad a promise to be more frequent in posting them. :) I'm trying, I’m trying.
Ive been pretty occupied with classes and SGA work with flyers and following up my registration (not to mention my large amounts of reading for psychology and English! Help me! ) and have finally gotten everything done so decided why not write a new blog about my trip to Gambia and a bit about what kind of events we as the SGA have gotten lined up for the students at SUDC
My trip to Gambia for the winter holidays (at least winter for Africa) was amazing. I met allot of new people as well as making up for the lost time with my old best friends which was really fun. I tried to live everyday like it wouldn't end. Guess I’m living with the after effects, which is a problem I call the PTHE , simply the Party to Hard Effect.
Symptoms include:
• Strange sleep patterns
• Laziness
• Unexpected amounts of shouting
• Loss of hearing (We love our Drum, Bass and House Music)
All fun aside, I learned allot about myself and what I wanted to do later on in my educational career as well as after it. Which really helps me take a deep easy breath cause I think its really good to know what you want in life , so it keeps you on track so you know what you want and don't let anything or anyone put you off track.
But enough of the philosophical information! I know we all want to know what is happening or what has happened in the Spring semester! First of all, allot more blog posts, since my readers complained to me that I haven't written anything at all except for one post, so I'm going to try to work on that.
Last week Wednesday we said goodbye to our academic director Mr. Tom Haslam, who had been the longest serving staff member for SUDC (almost 5 years) and met our new academic director Mr. Pierre Du Jardin. After a heartfelt goodbye at the staff quarters , we moved into a new stage in Suffolk university history with Mr. Du Jardin.
After all the orientation meetings with ID card processing, info meetings and all, the SGA finally got together to set up a new and fun-filled agenda for the Spring. Tons of parties are lined up, but we didn't forget about the important stuff , like fundraisers & charities to better out community and connections with different schools.
This weekend we've got a trip lines up for the BSBA and the ELI that live on campus to Accrobaobab, which is basically a kind of adventure park built up in the baobabs. Thy have tons of fun activities like zip lines and climbing and I hope that this trip will be a really nice trip and also really different from what we usually do!
So let’s all get hyped up for this Spring semester, were only going to have it once!
Y.S.M. xoxo
